We all get a little excited when summer travelers return home, the kids are back in school and the lake traffic becomes manageable for the first time in months. The warm September days fade into cool starlit nights and slipping into a bubbly hot tub after a great day of exploring becomes a nightly ritual. We may be giving away a local secret, but Fall really is the BEST time to visit.

Leave it to Lake Tahoe to lure us back into the water even after summer has passed. With glassy water kayaking and paddle boarding, it’s the perfect escape from literally everything but calm blue waters and fresh mountain air. If you are looking for a group adventure, book the Wild Goose II with room for 12 and lots of trip options out of North Lake Tahoe..

There are few things more satisfying than a mountain hike through towering pines and brilliant autumn foliage. Check out Paige Meadows trail, a 5-mile loop in Tahoe City for gorgeous Aspens and crunchy pine needle paths. Or Marlette Lake on Tahoe’s east side. If you are looking for something nice and easy, we love the East Shore Trail for its mountain and lake views,10’ wide paved paths, and numerous selfie-perfect vistas.

We don’t mean to brag, but we are pretty darn proud of our local adventures. If you are looking for the most Instagramable experience, check out the North Lake Tahoe Ale Trail, where biking, hiking, paddling, or boating will land you at one of a dozen watering holes. Now that you are in on our local secret, we hope to see you on the lake, the path, up the mountain, or even at the pub. Get ready to “Fall” in love with Tahoe!
