My Dearest Lake Tahoe,

I must confess, my heart flutters like a poorly balanced paddleboard whenever I think of you. Your azure waters, framed by snow-capped mountains, make me want to dive in and never resurface (except for air, of course, and only when it’s 80 degrees outside because DANG. You. Are. Cold).

Always a good time, you're like the ultimate playground – skiing in the winter, hiking in the summer, and everything in between. You are the date I never want to end. Remember when I introduced you to my friends, and they couldn’t stop taking selfies with you and sharing your picture on TikTok? I know you are used to the attention, but for me my heart wants to burst every time. Even my parents can’t stop telling their friends about you.

I am amazed at your constant availability for a quiet bike ride along the trail or stroll along the beach. You are up for anything, and to prove that point, that trip to the South Shore will always be our little secret. But it's not just your wild side that draws me in – it's your ability to make me forget about the chaos of the world and just be present. Whether we're kayaking under the stars or sipping expensive bourbon by the fire, you have this magical way of making everything feel alright.

Thanks for being my adventure buddy, my relaxation spot, and my favorite place to escape the every day. You make me a better person. If anyone can roll with the flow, it is you, gorgeous Lake Tahoe. How on earth did I survive without you?

So, for now, and forever, I confess my undying love to your deep blue water, sandy beaches, towering pines, and snowcapped mountains.
